Alison Sudol in Fantastic Beasts

LeakyCon 2018: Alison Sudol of ‘Fantastic Beasts’

Alison Sudol, known for her music career in the band A Fine Frenzy, made her feature film debut in the Harry Potter prequel film Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them in 2016 as Queenie Goldstein, the skilled Legilimens and sister and roommate of Tina Goldstein.

LeakyCon announced Alison Sudol’s appearance as a last-minute addition to the already-stellar lineup of celebrity guests. She joined her co-star Dan Fogler (Jacob Kowalski) as part of the lineup. Her panel was held on Friday August 10 afternoon, Binge Mode podcast co-hosts Mallory Rubin and Jason Concepcion moderated her panel, and we got the scoop!

Rubin and Concepcion asked Alison about her decision to break into the acting industry back in 2014 and how she felt about making that transition from singing to acting.

Such wise words!

Alison talked about some behind-the-scenes experiences about her time on the set of Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them with director David Yates.

When asked about her character Queenie Goldstein, Alison had a lot to say about understanding Queenie and her magical and emotional abilities.

Ultimately, you should embrace everything about yourself and take care of yourself mentally.

With the sequel Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Against Grindelwald hitting theaters in November, Alison couldn’t say much about it for obvious reasons. But she gave a small hint about Queenie…

Rubin and Concepcion asked about Queenie’s relationships with her love interest Jacob and her sister Tina.

Ok, favorite Fantastic Beast???

To wrap up the panel, Rubin and Concepcion asked Alison about her upcoming projects. Alison is not only working on her music again but she will also have a children’s book printed.

We loved getting to see Alison Sudol at LeakyCon. If you missed the convention this year, don’t worry: You can purchase tickets for next year’s LeakyCon at either the Dallas event (back by popular demand!) on Aug. 9-11, 2019 or the Boston event (the 10th anniversary!) on Oct. 11-13, 2019.
