Ever wonder what Netflix’s Queer Eye would be like if instead of queer men, we had a cast of queer women instead? Austin-based sketch comedy group Ladies Eat Free produced a comedic short film Queer Eye for the Straight Girl to show you just that!
Ladies Eat Free presents a short parody version of Queer Eye where the five fabulous queer ladies Rachel, Simba, Anita, Katy, and Sara help out Megan, a straight girl in need who wants to put herself out there and get back into the dating game.
Ladies Eat Free will get to showcase Queer Eye for the Straight Girl at Babes Fest. Babes Fest is an independent arts festival based in Austin, Texas, celebrating women and non-binary artists of various mediumsāspanning music, film, art and comedy. The fest will kick off with its Film Showcase on Friday, Aug. 31!
The Film Showcase will feature films from over 20 women and non-binary filmmakers in Texas. The evening’s film shorts range from comedy to music to narrative to experimental and some of night’s longer works will even be accompanied by live performances.
