Fruits Basket anime 2001 version

Anime Series By Horoscope: Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo

With so many anime to explore, sometimes you need a guide to help you find your next watch. Rather than provide recommendations by genre, we will provide anime recommendations for each horoscope in this Anime Series By Horoscope series.

Gemini: The Twins (May 21-June 20)

You are one of the most versatile and vibrant of the horoscope signs, and you enjoy the nuances of dialogue and often deem conversations with people the most interesting parts of your day. You cherish all sorts of relationships, both romantic and non-romantic — but really don’t need any of the cheesiness. These anime recommendations listed below will offer you fun, witty chatter, with a page-turning plot to keep your curiosity engaged along the way.

Noragami

Light, funny, and featuring characters you grow to love and cherish, Noragami is about friendship amidst adventure, finding identity while dealing with the past, and all around one of my all-time favorite shows to watch. You’re bound to love everyone that you meet in this show. And you’ll especially love our main trio, Hiyori, Yato, and Yukine. Dive right into this world of gods and spirits living among the human plane.

Hunter x Hunter

Hailed one of the greatest anime series of all time, it is unfortunate that the series will definitely be left incomplete. Hunter x Hunter focuses on Gon Freecss. He discovers his father was a world-renowned hunter who tracked rare animals, found treasure, and engaged in all kinds of cool adventures. Gon decides to follow his father’s footsteps to become a hunter himself, and he meets other hunters along the way. This story features strong bonds between characters, each with their own backstory and objectives.

Cancer: The Crab (June 21-July 22)

You’re a loyal and compassionate person. And this often reflects not only in your everyday life with your friends and family, but also in your taste in shows. Sentimental by nature, you appreciate the simple pleasures in life, and appreciate nostalgia every now and then. Don’t lie, there’s a part of your heart that’s domestic too. Just for you, try some of these recommendations:

Fruits Basket

Fruits Basket is a warm and happy slice-of-life type of anime. It features high school student Tohru Honda, who is unofficially adopted into the Soma family house. In the face of hardship, Tohru remains a positive and inspiring figure. And she slowly catalyzes the changes among all the Soma family members. Previously, a 2001 version of the anime aired, but to the pleasant surprise of many fans, a remake started last year.

Carole and Tuesday

Carole and Tuesday depicts the day by day lives of Carole Stanley and Tuesday Simmons, two musically inclined women as they try to establish their new band. The show takes place in the future on a terraformed Mars, so while many of the complications the two face might seem very similar to the ones they might face on Earth, Carole and Tuesday find themselves also caught up in the darkening politics of anti-Earth immigrant sentiment. Carole and Tuesday does a great job balancing the more lighthearted frustrations of everyday life with touches of serious topics.

Leo: The Lion (July 23-August 22)

There is no doubt that you find pleasure in the drama. And you are not afraid to wear your heart out and open for the characters that you love. You are one to like the ups and downs of emotional roller coasters and just the type to enjoy these recommendations most:

Kakegurui

Kakegurui is set in Hyakkaou Private Academy, where the student hierarchy is determined through gambling and fortune. Our main character is transfer student Yumeko Jabami. She, at first, seems like an innocent and naive girl, but is actually an incredibly astute compulsive gambler. Her willingness to go “all in” quickly begins to disrupt the power structure. And the student council finds themselves facing risk and reward. You’ll love the tension that the show builds and you’ll especially find the characters’ inner demons entertaining.

Honey and Clover

via Gfycat

A coming-of-age story about three young art students living in the same apartment complex and the people they meet. There is unrequited love and a good amount of love triangles to keep your attention piqued, but at the same time, a heartwarming narrative about life after graduating college and adapting into adulthood. Honey and Clover is short, sweet, and a story worthy of your heart.

Virgo: The Virgin (August 23-September 22)

This might come as a surprise to you, but secretly you actually love problems. Mostly because you love to solve them and because you like to get to the bottom of things. When you’re analyzing and putting the pieces of the puzzle together, you’re in your best element. You’re logical and perceptive, and you’ll enjoy practicing your deductive skills in these mentally stimulating shows:

Puella Magi Madoka Magica

Twelve episodes is really all this hard-hitting anime needs to pack in a punch. Disguised as a happy-go-lucky magical girl anime, this show very quickly turns its head to give you a twisted and un-gentle turn of events that will leave you on the edge of your seat. Madoka is one of my all-time favorite series — one of the few shows that left a huge impact on me.

Death Note

A classic, really. If you’re a Virgo and you haven’t watched Death Note yet, you might be missing out on a show that would actually get the gears going in your head. Young prodigy Light Yagami finds himself the ability to kill anyone whose name he writes in a notebook, and with that power begins to serve capital punishment to anyone he deems unworthy. However, as the body count rises, Light’s actions begin to take the interest of detective L — and thus the cat-and-mouse game between the two geniuses commences.
