Naughty Dog is regarded as one of the best storytellers for PlayStation exclusive games like Uncharted: The Nathan Drake collection and The Last of Us. However, they’ve been in the game since 1984, producing games like Crash Bandicoot and Jak and Dexter. Recently, some of their games were free on the PlayStation Store like The Uncharted trilogy and Uncharted 4. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy was on sale for about $10.
What Is ‘The Uncharted’ Series About?https://tenor.com/embed.js
The basic premise of all the games, with the exception of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, Nathan Drake finds himself trying to find the next gem or fortune that he had read about years ago. His story is developed throughout the story and you soon find yourself wanting to learn more about his life. One of the prominent ladies that is very important to his life is Elena and you see their relationship bloom and grow into a relationship that you end up really enjoying witnessing.
Realistic relationships with the adventurehttps://tenor.com/embed.js
In preparation of the release of The Last of Us part II, I wanted to play Naughty Dog’s games that had some type of involvement from Neil Druckmann. Truthfully, my girlfriend had also recommended the Uncharted franchise to me as well. All in all, playing the five games through for the past several weeks made it an incredible experience.
With every game that passed, they got better, the relationships got deeper, and the graphics improved. The whole game had a lot of adventure that didn’t seem to be repetitive to me.
My favorite couple was Nathan and Elena. It’s the most realistic relationship I’ve seen so far in a video game. Also, all of the female characters in this franchise are all strong and independent. They don’t constantly need to be saved by their male counterparts and are often doing the saving as well. It’s a give and take relationship that exists in this story.
My favorite Uncharted game is…https://tenor.com/embed.js
My favorite game is the last one, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. It definitely showed a partnership between Nadine and Chloe and it grew from how it was in the beginning of the game. The last game was the shorter one out of the five that Naughty Dog developed. It continued to have the relationship dynamic that I fell in love with while playing Uncharted 4.
Something that I really enjoyed as well was that even though the difficulty I played in wasn’t the hardest, the puzzles didn’t get easier. Those seemed to stay the same across the board, no matter the difficulty, which is something I appreciate about Naughty Dog. Generally speaking though, for the franchise as a whole, I would rate it 5 out of 5 stars.
My least favorite game of the franchisehttps://tenor.com/embed.js
Out of all of the games, Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception was my least favorite. But not in the way you may think. I think I’ve established that the story lines so far for the Uncharted series is amazing. The only thing that I really regret changing in this play through of the game was the difficulty.
After playing two games, my confidence built up, and I thought it would be a good idea to change the difficulty to normal. Oh boy, did I regret it almost immediately. Obviously, the NPCs were harder for me to kill or get rid of. But I was also getting more frustrated as the story continued and the boss fights were getting more difficult to get through. This was also the longest I had spent playing through this game because of the frustration that I was having.
This doesn’t change my overall opinion of the franchise. I still enjoyed the playthrough.

Generally speaking though, for the franchise as a whole, I would rate it a 5 out of 5 stars.
If you’re thinking about picking up this series, definitely go for it and stay because of all of the adventure and trouble you get into by being Nathan Drake.
