Create your Halliwell Manor attic in your home in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

How to Create the Halliwell Manor Attic in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

The original Charmed is one of my favorite shows of all time. Charmed is my comfort show. It’s my “I need something witchy” show. It’s my “I can play this in the background” show. I grew up in the early 2000s watching this show and I am proud to say I’m part of the #HalliwellFam.

And if you love to play Nintendo’s Animal Crossing: New Horizons, then surely, you must create the Halliwell Manor attic to pay homage. *wink wink*

Important note: In order to recreate the Halliwell Manor attic in the game, make sure you have asked Tom Nook for the additional attic in your house. And make sure you can also access the Custom Designs Portal at Able Sisters tailor shop.

The Overall Look of the Halliwell Manor Attic

Before you compile items and furniture in the game, let’s first pull up some images from the show to reference. Because the Halliwell Manor has been in the family for generations, the attic is old. The main color to aim for in the furniture and items will be darker colors like brown. Various shades of faded yellows and dark reds are a plus.

Furniture

The primary type of furniture you need is antique furniture and any of the basic wooden furniture

Here are the antique furniture to acquire:

  • 1 antique chair (brown),
  • 1 antique console table (brown),
  • Optional: 1 antique clock (brown)
  • 1 antique mini table (brown)

Here are the basic wooden furniture to acquire:

  • 1 Wooden low table (brown),
  • 2 Wooden-block bookshelves (customize to brown and yellow colors),
  • 1 Wooden-block table

The wooden-block bookshelves, antique console table, and wooden low table belong on the left side of the attic. The wooden low table is supposed to act as the table the sisters use when they cast spells.

The antique clock, wooden-block table, antique mini table, antique chair, and antique clock belong on the right side of the attic. The antique clock resembles the grandfather clock in Charmed. Although technically, the clock does not belong in the attic. But if we’re going for the Charmed theme, you can’t forget about the iconic clock that gets destroyed constantly! The wooden-block table and antique chair are meant to be a regular table and chair that the sisters sit on when they write spells.

Wallpaper and Flooring

To best emanate the attic, you need the Modern Wood wallpaper, and the Dark Herringbone flooring.

Rugs for the Halliwell Manor Attic

It may be difficult to acquire some of these more rare rugs but hopefully with Saharah visiting your island, your friends’ islands, and with the help of kind strangers in ACNH-related groups, you’ll be able to acquire them.

Red Persian rug

This large rug, with a cost of 2,000 bells, is probably the closest you’ll get to the rugs depicted on the show.

Miscellaneous DIY Items

Music stand

The music stand will act as the book stand for the Book of Shadows.

Wooden full-length mirror

The mirror acts as a callback to the Season 4 episode, “Charmed and Dangerous.”

Window Custom Design & 3 Simple Panels

The Charmed Halliwell Manor attic window custom design can be downloaded from the Custom Designs Portal at Able Sisters shop.

The simple panels come in many colors and you’ll want to make sure you have brown ones so that they blend in with the wallpaper and flooring. You’ll need three simple panels and access to the Custom Designs Portal at Able Sisters tailor shop.

  1. Purchase customization kits from your Nook’s Cranny.
  2. Go to Able Sisters to access the portal.
  3. Search by Design ID.
  4. Enter our custom design ID for the window design we created: MO-XDHN-HNJB-8JWN.
  5. Save the design to a design slot in your Custom designs app.
  6. Use the customization kits to customize your three simple panels.

Miscellaneous Items

Table lamp

You need just a few sources of light in the attic (you will turn off the lights at night) and it’ll look just perfect and give off the right witchy vibes. The table lamp will go on the antique mini table.

Candle and glass holder with candle

The candle goes on the wooden-block table, top right corner. And the glass holder with candle item goes on top of either wooden-block bookshelves.

Fortune-telling set and Lab experiments set

The closest items in the game that would resemble items a witch would have are the fortune-telling set and the lab experiments set. Technically the lab experiments set is chemistry-based, not magic or wiccan-based. But it’s the effort and appearance that count! The lab experiments set has vials of “potion” and a small jar that can easily be one of the potion ingredients.

High-end speakers

The speakers call back to the Charmed season 4 finale, “Witch Way Now?” when the sisters blast music from a boombox to distract Bruce Campbell’s character Agent Jackman.

Sofa (brown)

The Halliwell family has one sofa in the attic. I chose to go with brown to match with the rest of the furniture. Imagine Piper sitting there with the book of fairy tales that she read in the season 5 episode, “Happily Ever After.”

Cartoonist set

ChinLin sits on the antique chair. The wooden-block table and cartoonist set is behind her.

The cartoonist set goes on the wooden block table by the candle. (As an alternative, you can use scattered papers, which is a DIY.)

Hourglass

Honestly, I did not have any reason related to Charmed to choose this item to display. I thought it looked cool, LOL.

Items we wish we could add to the Halliwell Manor Attic

How can we have a Halliwell Manor attic without the infamous Book of Shadows? Well, until Nintendo allows us to custom the books with our own custom designs, this Halliwell Manor attic remains book-less. However, with the music stand item facing the three simple panels, the image implies there’s a book (but we know there isn’t *sad face*).

Additionally, it’d be awesome if Nintendo had a dollhouse item. The dollhouse in Charmed is the exterior of the Halliwell manor and if a dollhouse item was red and white on the outside, it would somewhat resemble the dollhouse in the show.

Conclusion

Hopefully this guide to create the Halliwell Manor attic has been helpful for all you Charmed fans! Check out the video below if you like.
