Season 2 of The Mandalorian is back to pull us out of the 2020 grime. And it’s better than ever! After season 1 captured the hearts of Star Wars and non-Star Wars fans alike, Season 2 became a highly anticipated chapter. We explore new thrills, new quests, and of course, see our beloved Baby Yoda. With Mando, AKA Din Djarin, and the Child now a clan of one, and the Dark Saber making a surprise appearance in the S1 finale, fans have much to expect in the new chapter.

Warning: Spoilers ahead for the first three episodes of Season 2
Summary

He needs to take the Child to its kind by first finding other Mandalorians like himself for help. Of course, this goal is not free from fulfilling certain dangerous demands first, all while trying to keep his little womp-rat safe.
The First Episode
The first episode starts in Tatooine. News of a wandering Mandalorian in Mos Pelgo leads Mando to Cobb Vanth, a local lawman/de-facto mayor donning Bobba Fett’s beskar armor. Cobb agrees to return the armor to Mando–as he is clearly not Mandalorian–only if the latter helps him to slay a Krayt dragon. This leads to the first of many show-stopping moments to come.
The Second Episode
The second episode is mainly a filler. But Mando must take on a new side quest to escort a frog lady and her eggs, a.k.a the last of her line, to her husband, in exchange for his knowledge on Mandalorian sightings. Let’s just say this episode serves not only one of the most adorable moments of Baby Yoda so far, but also his naughtiest. Don’t get me started on the eight-legged creepy crawlies that turn a quest gone wrong into pure horror.
The Third Episode
Finally, the third episode brings Mando face to face with Bo-Katan Kryze, a notable Mandalorian who has history to her name, and three others like herself on the ocean planet, Trask. But clanhood is cut short as a revelation shows that Mando’s own Mandalorian sect is actually a cult of religious zealots. Bo-Katan enlists Mando’s help in a covert operation to hijack an imperial cruiser and retrieve Mandalorian weapons. In exchange, she ultimately gives Mando the location of Ahsoka Tano, a former Jedi.
More Familiar Faces and Easter Eggs
The Mandalorian remains dedicated to the Star Wars universe. Not only do the first three episodes deliver memorable sequences, they also give us a plethora of familiar faces and easter eggs (and I don’t mean the Frog Lady kind!). The Tusken Raiders from A New Hope and the creepy spiders that were part of a concept art for The Empire Strikes Back are only a few recognizable surprises.
Then there are the easter eggs. For instance, the speeder that Cobb Vanth rides in the first episode has an engine very similar to that of Anakin’s pod racer from Phantom Menace. R5D4 makes an appearance in Peli Motto’s shop, a droid that was replaced by R2D2 in A New Hope. Tatooine alone had tons of references for fans of the movies to spot. It even makes you wonder if the characters ever came across the likes of Luke or Anakin in the past.
Speaking of, let’s not forget that The Mandalorian also drops key characters making their first live-action debut. Cobb Vanth is first introduced in the Star Wars novel trilogy, Aftermath, a former slave who bought Bobba Fett’s armor from the Jawas to protect Mos Pelgo from enemy forces. Fans of The Clone Wars and Rebels animated series will definitely recognize Bo-Katan Kryze in Episode 3. Those who know of her plight in her native home of Mandalor will understand why she is determined to retrieve the Dark Saber. Even better — we will eventually get to see a live-action Ahsoka Tano, whose history with Anakin Skywalker and bringing down the Galactic Empire in The Clone Wars, has made her a highly anticipated character this season.
More Growth To Mando and The Child’s Interactions
https://tenor.com/embed.jsWho can forget the budding relationship between Mando and his little womp-rat that took the world by storm? Season 2 shows the Child being more expressive, making more sounds, and interacting deeper with the world around him. The parental bond Mando seems to have with him is more visible. Mando is a lot more protective, more impulsive in keeping the Child safe. That is also paired with a couple of his “dad” moments, particularly in scolding the Child and keeping him away from those darn eggs.
Of course, the Child has a fair share of being a little rascal (like a toddler would!) while still melting hearts with his cutest scenes. Nevertheless, their continuous interaction and understanding of each other have brought them closer. It’s hard to believe that Mando would very soon have to part ways with the little asset he rescued. Many of us are hoping that that won’t be the case, especially when it feels like their relationship has just begun.
The Mandalorian Season 2, Ep 1-3 Review Conclusion
https://tenor.com/embed.jsOverall, season 2 has so far lived up to the hype. It’s giving us riveting content that could fill a Star Wars nerd’s plate right from the get-go. Now with episode 4 gearing up to possibly reveal Ahsoka in the flesh, fans can expect more surprises and revelations.
