This past weekend July 5-7, Rooster Teeth fans came together in the halls of the Austin Convention Center, the Fairmont Hotel, and the Hilton Hotel to attend RTX. On the third floor of the Fairmont, cosplayers gathered to compete in the annual RTX Cosplay Contest.

Cosplay has always fascinated me, so it was one of the panels I was most excited to see. I was blown away by some of the cosplays I saw. And I’m thrilled that I was able to capture some of them to share with you.

From the judges to the cosplayers, everyone’s energy radiated with enthusiasm. Contestants poured their hearts and souls into their costumes, which took anywhere from three days to five months to complete. The hard work of these contestants was evident in every stitch and prop that I saw. There were so many breathtaking cosplays within the hour of the panel. But the overall winner was a terrifyingly brilliant interpretation of Springtrap from the horror video game, Five Nights at Freddy’s.
Check out some highlights from the contest below!
